Heads up! New interfaces coming

Posted by akfoste on November 11, 2009

Two of Milner’s resources will look different by the start of the spring semester.

LexisNexis has announced a new, streamlined interface. Hopefully it will make more sense to end users than the current version. From information received from the vendor, it seems like it will be more intuitive.

RefWorks is also redesigning its interface. Not much information yet on what the changes will look like.

Streaming Video

Posted by akfoste on November 10, 2009

Milner has added streaming video resources to our collection.

Our Psychology Librarian has purchased a one year subscription to Alexander Street Press’ Counseling and Therapy in Video product. Available videos cover topics ranging from counseling different ethnicities to examples of different styles of psychotherapies.

  • Transcripts that follow along are available for every video
  • Create short clips of videos for personal or classroom use
  • Embed videos into Blackboard

The second set of streaming video is a selection of 6 films from New Day Films, an award winning independent producer of social issue films.
